What is Marma?
Marma points are specific points in the human body that are junctions of:
Prāṇa (vital energy) + nerves + blood vessels + muscles and joints.
Marma Chikitsa (Chikitsa means “treatment”) is an ancient healing system that extensively treats the marma points. It has roots in Ayurveda, Siddha, kalari chikitsa, chintarmani nattuvaidyam and other native/traditional systems of the southernmost parts of India.
Marma Chikitsa recognizes the deep significance of working with the confluence of marma points in order to support the body to truly and deeply recover from all types of injuries and stagnation of vital energy.
According to Marma Chikitsa, deep impacts to the body cause a block in the flow of Prana (life force).
Such impacts can occur due to accidents, sports injuries, falls, sprains, or physical trauma.
If this block remains unresolved or unaddressed, it leads to prana stagnation in that area, preventing the smooth flow of life-force energy through the marma point. This, in turn, hinders proper healing, rejuvenation, and wellness at that site in the body. If left unattended, these issues can develop into deeper health problems during middle and old age.
Injuries from sports, trauma, and accidents can cause extensive blockage of prana.These can be detected and healed by integrating Kalari and Ayurveda in treatment, using external herbal applications and internal medicines, which can bring almost miraculous healing outcomes.

Dr. Raghunathan, was a well established Ayurveda Physician, nephew of Ezham Sankaran, who was the palace doctor of the erstwhile Maharaja of Travancore.in the late 1800s. He established Indigenous Medical Laboratories Vakkom, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala in 1938. This traditional medicine manufacturing company, has a G M P (Genuine Manufacturing Practice) certification from the health department of the Kerala government.
